Japanese concern Toshiba. One can always make one’s own entertainment

The losses of the Japanese company Toshiba have amounted to 9.2 billion US dollars for the fiscal year. It is quite possible that the activity of the brightest corporation of the 20th century will end there. The world is grateful to the Japanese giant for inventing and introducing to the market a number of technological novelties. The first fluorescent lamp, transistor TV sets, microwaves, video phones and even a laptop are here thanks to the company Toshiba! The world’s quietest device for MRI can be called the last significant invention of the company.

The XXI century is a century of the successive failure for the company. A number of incorrect investment decisions and a scandal with financial reports led the company to the today’s depressing state. An announcement on March 29 about the bankruptcy of a subsidiary company Westinghouse Electric, whose profile was the development of the nuclear program, has become the icing on the cake.

The last chance to save the company is selling, perhaps, the last successful division of the company. This is about the production of microchips. There are three customers: the Singapore-based company Broadcom, the South Korean company SK Hynix and the Taiwanese company Hon Hai. The cost of the subdivision is estimated at 18 billion US dollars, experts say that the real amount of the deal may be higher.

There is a high probability that the sale of an excellent affiliated company will not save Toshiba. This is due to the fact that it is possible to delist the company’s shares from the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Let’s hope that the situation will be resolved and the Japanese giant will continue to amaze and please the world with technological innovations.
