Currently, the International Financial Congress, involving the heads of the Central Banks of various countries, is being held. Elvira Nabiullina, the head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, has provided interesting information. She reported that the issue of the cards of the Russian payment system Mir was advancing rapidly. The total number of issued cards has exceeded the mark of 10.6 million units.

Madam Nabiullina said that type of payment cards was accepted by all payment terminals and ATMs on the territory of the Russian Federation. That is why the interest to the cards among the citizens of the Russian Federation has grown. Just over recent few months more than two million units have been issued.

Being the project manager, Vladimir Komlev, the head of National System of Payment Card (NSPK), has a goal to ensure the cards working capacity at least on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. Within the International Financial Congress, Elvira Nabiullina also said that at that stage the cards of the payment system Mir fulfilled all the functions, which were typical for ordinary international cards. In order to extend Mir cards on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (at the moment it includes the following states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia), card operations in Armenia together with the Armenian national system ArCa are being tested.
