According to the survey conducted by Duke University, about 70% of the surveyed financial directors of global companies believe that by the next summer the US economy will be in the state of a recession.

The university has surveyed more than one thousand professionals around the world. 469 of them work in North America.

Approximately one third of the financial directors expects problems with the US economy by the first quarter of 2020. At the same time, more than 80% of respondents agreed that negative changes will come before the first quarter of 2021.

The last similar survey conducted in the fourth quarter of 2018 was even more pessimistic, owing to the failure of the stock markets at that time.

Last year, the growth of the US economy was 3%. Experts predict a slowdown in the current year to 2-2.5%. The Fed predicts the growth of 2.1% this year and 1.9% next year.
