Philips in the Netherlands will use renewable energy to operate

Philips has completely switched its production in Holland to renewable energy. Opening of the wind station in the southwestern part of the country has contributed to this.

A press release issued by the company stated that at that moment more than half of enterprises operating in different countries used only clean energy sources. Phillips has set a goal to move to zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2020, and it seems to be keeping the word.

Together with the companies such as Akzo Nobel, DSM and Google, three years ago Philips signed an agreement to purchase energy from the operators of wind power stations in the Netherlands.

The contracts indicate that the four companies mentioned above will acquire 95% of the total energy generated by the wind park. The deal has been made for 15 years.

The head of Phillips noted that reducing carbon dioxide emissions to its minimum is not only the corporation’s obligation to the world, but also a step towards business development. More and more customers pay attention to the environmental friendliness of production when choosing a supplier of products.
