AMS AG (Austria) offered Osram Licht (Germany) a deal amounting to 3.7 billion euros. The offer was made immediately after the company rejected the deal at a lower price.

AMS offers to pay 38.5 euros per Osram share. Previously, Bain Capital and The Carlyle Group offered 35 euros per share.

On Monday, Osram stock prices have risen nearly 10%, reaching 36.7 euros. At the last session, the price was significantly lower – 31.6 euros.

Various market participants got interested in the high-tech German company Osram , which is a leader in the lighting segment. Warnings of falling profits as well as an open dispute with Siemens AG about the strategy caused such an interest.
