European stock indexes are falling on Monday
European stock markets are falling at the start of the trading session on Monday. What is more, the shares of the German pharmaceutical company Stada are among the leaders of the fall. On the other hand, the stocks of the French engineering company Alstom are growing.
By the beginning of the day the pan-European STOXX 600 index has fallen by 0.55 percent. Trades can go with the low activity as the UK markets are closed on Monday due to the weekend.
The stocks of Stada have decreased by 1.30 percent, because the Active Ownership Capital investor was able to convince Stada shareholders to vote for the dismissal of the chairman of the company’s supervisory board, but failed the attempt to appoint its representative to this post.
Alstom shares have risen by 2.47 percent, because the company has entered into a contract on the development and construction of 28 express trains for the rail operator Amtrak from the USA. The cost of the trains is 1.8 billion Euros ($ 2 billion)
