The Russian ruble is stable at the start of the bidding process
At the beginning of the day the Russian currency has remained stable against the dollar and euro at the Moscow Stock Exchange due to the insignificant fluctuations of the global oil prices.
The bidding on the US dollar has started with transactions within 62,35-62,42 rubles. On the average, the exchange rate has become equal to 62.37 rubles in the first a minute and a half. This time the euro has remained nearly unchanged in price and amounted to 67.91 rubles. The currency basket has increased by 0.5 kopecks and amounted to 64.865 rubles.
At the same time the US currency has become 8 kopecks lower than the current official exchange rate; the euro – 12 kopecks below the official rate.
According to the analysts from “Interfax-CEA”, the fact that the ruble is hesitating insignificantly, can be explained by the consolidation at the oil market. The quotes have slightly fallen on the early Monday morning, but they have stopped the decline by the time of the start of the currency trading. To the beginning of the day the futures contracts for Brent crude oil have fallen in price by less than 0.1% and totaled to $ 51.75 per barrel on the London Stock Exchange.
