Apple Watch sales have fallen by 70%
In the III quarter this year Apple Watch sales have fallen by 71.6%, amounting to 1.1 million units. Nevertheless, despite some losses, the company Apple maintains the first place regarding the market share – 41.3%. These data were provided by the research company International Data Corporation (IDC).
We can observe the decline of “smart” watches by half at the market in the III quarter. During the period of July-September the sales of these gadgets have fallen by 51.6%, amounting to 2.7 million units.
The second place regarding the market share took the Swiss company Garmin. The sales of its devices have risen by nearly 325% to 600 thousand units.
Samsung is stable at the market. The sales of company’s gadgets have increased by 9% and amounted to 400 thousand.
Lenovo has reduced the sales. The number of the sold “smart”watches has dropped by 73.3%. The Pebble sales have fallen by 54.1%. Each of these companies has sold approximately 100 thousand watches.
IDC analyst Jitesh Ubrani said: “It has also become evident that at present smartwatches are not for everyone.” According to him, the companies have failed to explain the users what functions, except the fitness trackers, these gadgets have.
