A great deal! The company Mobileye will be acquired by Intel
Mobileye’s shares showed significant growth (33% for one day) due to the news about the acquiring this company by the giant Intel. At the moment the capitalization of the Israeli company is estimated at $ 10.6 billion.
The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported about the upcoming deal. The transaction amount is not revealed, but the experts claim that it will be approximately $ 15 billion.
Mobileye, the Israeli company, is known in the market for its developments in the field of the automation of the car control process. In particular, the company’s portfolio includes a camcorder, which helps to prevent accidents by quickly determining the distance to other traffic participants. The camcorder also monitors the marking and is equipped with other “smart” emergency prevention functions. Intel has been cooperating with Mobileye for some time. The companies are actively working on the creation of a high-grade self-driving car. The third partner of the ambitious project is the BMW Group. About 50 robotic cars will be launched on the autobahns for full-scale testing. The mass production of the self-driving cars will start in three years.
Intel is very interested in buying the Israeli company, because it has the long-term plans to expand the promotion of microchips for the auto industry in the market. This acquisition will certainly help realize the ambitious plans of the world’s largest manufacturer of microprocessors.
