In a year Google starts headquarters building in London
This week, the most expensive brand of the world Google has showed the public plans for the new headquarters. It will be located in the capital of Great Britain and will accommodate about four thousand employees. Thus, more than seven thousand employees of the international giant will work in London. The large-scale plans of Google became known from the publication on the pages of the authoritative newspaper The Guardian.
To accommodate such an impressive number of employees, a multi-storey building will be built (its length is about 300 meters according to the plan) near King’s Cross station. Convenient location (according to the plan of the giant’s leaders) will make it easier for employees to solve the problem of getting to work without problems. At the moment, the project documentation is in the approval process in the relevant area of London.
The architects of the project are Heatherwick Studios and Bjarke Ingels Group. The total area of office premises is 92 thousand square meters. For the staff relaxation there will be a garden with running tracks as well as a basketball court, a football field and gyms, a huge swimming pool, areas for an afternoon snap and massage studios. All facilities will be placed on the roof. Around four thousand employees will be able to eat in a variety of numerous canteens and cafeterias.
The project of architectural studios Heatherwick Studios and Bjarke Ingels Group is not the first; the original project (which implementation was estimated in the astronomical sum of 1 billion pounds sterling) was rejected a year and a half ago by Larry Page.
The decision by the Google management not to move the headquarters from London, despite the difficult times for the United Kingdom, can be recognized as a declaration of confidence in the future of the British economy.
