It became known who has been recognized as the highest-paid manager on Wall Street this year. Like a year ago, Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, the largest bank in the US, has granted this status.
By the way, according to data which became known thanks to S & P Global Market Intelligence, Mr. Daimon’s earnings had increased by 3.9% in a year.
Let’s remind ourselves of other top-managers who have won prizes in this private championship. Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan earned $ 21.3 million over the past year, CEO of Citrigroup Michael Corbat can boast of $ 17.8 million.
Analysts were unpleasantly surprised by the fact that the fourth place among the most highly-paid financiers had got the head of Wells Fargo Timothy J. Sloan, who had received $ 17.5 million for the year. We recall that Wells Fargo was caught red-handed – they imposed on customers dubious services and opened accounts without their knowledge.
It’s interesting that more than half of the first ten highly-paid bankers represent regional banks. We didn’t find two well-known names in the lists of the richest bankers: Goldman Sachs, Chairman of Lloyd Blankfein and James Gorman, CEO of Morgan Stanley (each of them earned slightly less than $ 10 million).
It should be noted that 2017 was quite successful for American banks. The reasons are obvious: the growth of the national economy, a reduction in the unemployment rate, an increase in interest rates and a decrease in pressure from regulators.
