For the first time since the summer, the Chinese authorities can make concessions to the United States. The goal is to settle a dispute in a trade conflict. The obligations that China can undertake do not fully meet the expectations of the States, for whom large-scale reforms is the right way to resolve the problem. Negotiations will continue for a very long time. But now it is possible to say that there are some intermediate results.
Despite such positive news, many have doubts that the leaders of the conflicting states will succeed in reaching an agreement at the upcoming G20 summit in Argentina.
It also became known that the Chinese authorities had sent to Washington a response to its demand to reform in trade. This can stimulate negotiations that will eventually lead to the end of the conflict between the major economies of the modern world.
For the most part, concessions are a modified form of previous offers. For example, the possibility of increasing the share of foreign capital in several industries is being considered.
In October, investors and markets were concerned that the leaders of the powers would not find a compromise on key issues.
Businessmen in America hoped that the parties would come to abolish the increase in duties on Chinese goods to 25% next year.
The dialogue between China and the States was stopped in September, after Chinese diplomats had canceled a visit to Washington due to the US threats to introduce new duties.
