Gazprom will start supplying gas to China before the scheduled date. The company representatives report that the process will begin on December 1. It was originally envisaged that Russian gas will be supplied to the Celestial Empire from the date of December 20. Due to the fact that the Power of Siberia is being built ahead the schedule, it became possible to start supplying from the beginning of the month.
This issue was discussed during Mr. Miller’s visit to China. The parties studied the supply patterns from the Far East and through the “western route”.
Over the past year, China has become the leader in gas imports. The country has purchased 125 billion cubic meters of fuel, which is a third higher than the figure of 2017. Purchases of liquefied gas have significantly increased. There are not enough pipelines in China to fully ensure consumption.
