The “big data” market is actively developing. Of course, any rapidly developing market at some point faces the need in serious analysis. Finally, that moment has arrived. Companies have realized how important it is now to evaluate the information collected. Rose Schooler, Intel CEO of global product sales for data centers has shared her opinion regarding this matter.

According to Intel, only 2% of the total data is currently being analyzed. There is a forecast that by 2020 every inhabitant of the planet will create 1.7 MB of data per second. The fact is that the consumption of digital services is increasing, as well as the number of devices that people use in everyday life and for work.

Data analysis can be useful in various fields. It may help regulate the consumption of electricity, urban traffic, health care, etc. Information can be useful for both business and society. With the help of analysis, it is possible to save taxpayers’ money and increase the profits of companies at various levels.

According to the forecasts of the vice president of Intel, the need for data analysis will constantly grow. Every year, the data amount will increase by 25%. In turn, this will increase the need for resources for analyzing and storing information. Basic computing will be transferred from the center to the periphery, that is, the number of smart devices will grow.

It was also noted that quantum computing could become a reality in the near future. Intel Labs is developing a quantum computer with which it will be possible to analyze and simulate various processes. Studying fundamental questions, the answers to which are impossible to obtain today, will become a reality.

Genetic medicine, astrophysics and the preservation of the environment will be the main spheres to apply new technologies.

Another technology that will help work with huge amounts of data is artificial intelligence. Today it is widely used in business.

In addition to the forecasts, Rose Schooler spoke about the company’s priorities and investment preferences. Intel believes that the volume of the semiconductor market in the near future will amount to 10 billion US dollars. To get a good market share, the company invests in the appropriate development. In addition, Intel is working with AI for deep learning.

The vice president noted that the company had set the task to increase the safety of clients. “We are very grateful to users and developers for their help in studying this situation,” she said.

The number of vulnerability reports in 2018 increased by 13% compared with 2017.

“The company is working on continuous improvement of the services offered to our customers,” vice president of the Data Center Group emphasized.
