Jair Bolsonaro, President of Brazil, said he had received an invitation to join OPEC. This happened after talking with Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Energy Minister of Saudi Arabia.

“I believe that it would be very important for Brazil to become part of OPEC. An invitation has already been made. It’s not official, but it’s the first step,”said Bolsonaro during the FII forum. “Our country has significant oil reserves and is fully suitable for participation in OPEC,” continued Jair Bolsonaro.

The cartel, which was founded in 1960, consists of 14 oil exporting countries.
