Sad news for world of finance: Paul Volcker died

The press has reported on the death of Paul Volcker. He is known to everyone who is more or less interested in financial markets, as he was the head of the US Federal Reserve for eight years. Paul Volcker was 92 years old.

The former Fed Chief held this high position from 1979 to 1987. Being the Federal Reserve chairman, he fought against inflation. He managed to reduce the value of this indicator from 11.2% to 3.7%.

Paul Volcker led an active lifestyle until the very end; the world also knows him as the head of the special President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board (PERAB) established by President Obama.
