Netflix Inc.’s , the world’s largest subscription streaming service, has released data on the size and composition of its audiences, as well as revenue outside the United States. The company seeks to prove to investors that its growth in non-US markets is very significant. And indeed it is! This is confirmed by a huge global audience in the number of 158.3 million people.
In two years, the number of service subscribers from Europe, the Middle East and Africa has doubled. The company’s presence in Latin America has also increased significantly, but the service cannot be called popular in Asia.
When evaluating a company, for quite some time investors tracked exclusively the growth of the company’s audience in the States. Competition intensified, and in the mid-summer Netflix was forced to report that for the first time in ten years, the company’s audience in the United States had slightly decreased. The market reacted to the news by 16% slumps of quotes.
The management of the company did not make such a mistake again. The new report indicated the overall audience of the United States and Canada. In the quarter ended on September 30, the total number of subscribers in neighboring states grew to 67 million.
Netflix’s number of subscribers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East was 47.4 million (as of September 30). This means that from March 31, 2017, the indicator has increased by 140%. Revenue has tripled to $ 4 billion. In Latin America, revenue doubled to $ 2 billion. Revenue in the Asia-Pacific region has amounted to one billion. At late spring of 2017, this indicator was equal to 116 million US dollars.
