Representatives of the MasterCard payment system have announced the company’s plans to establish a center for countering cybercrime in Europe. It is noteworthy that MasterCard is opening its first such center in the region.
The center and the headquarters of the company will be located in Waterloo, Belgium. Physical and digital security experts are going to be involved in the project.
Javier Perez, president of MasterCard Europe, noted that the European center would provide an opportunity to improve interaction between the main organizations of the system.
It is expected that the center will open in 2021. So far, there are no details about investments in the project and the number of employees involved in it.
