Experts have estimated that by May this year, Chinese civil air transportation will have lost about 100 billion yuan due to coronavirus, which has had a very negative impact on the number of passengers. This is approximately $ 14.3 billion. The authoritative Chinese newspaper 21 Shiji Jinji Daobao has published this information on their pages.

Last month, losses amounted to 37 billion yuan (or $ 5.4 billion). If the deadly virus continues to spread, then the negative effect on the industry will continue, and therefore in April-May the losses can reach 100 billion yuan.

The publication provides screenshots of plane tickets for Shenzhen Airlines flights from Shenzhen to Chengdu, which cost 5 yuan. This means that the ticket costs slightly less than one dollar.
