According to the reports of the International Tin Association, currently, PT Timah from Indonesia is the largest producer of low-melting metal. The company has outperformed Yunnan Tin (China) on this indicator.

Over the past year, 334.5 thousand tons of refined tin have been produced in the world. This is 6.5% less than in 2018. 10 largest companies in this industry have produced about three quarters of the world production.

PT Timah production has doubled. Due to this fact, the top 10 companies have increased volumes by 14% compared to 2018. Increased production is connected to new export regulations in Indonesia. Internal competition has fallen. Many private traders either reduced production or fully completed the work.

Tin production in China has fallen 11%. Production in Europe increased 2% in 2019.

The International Tin Association was formed in 1932. It unites organizations involved in the processing of tin worldwide. Members of the Association produce about two thirds of the world’s total metal.
