Jack Dorsey, who is known for his Twitter and Square projects, has decided to donate about $ 1 billion to combat coronavirus. Mr. Dorsey said that the amount allocated was about 28% of his personal fortune.

The exact amount of funds donated to the charity has amounted to $ 997,818,354. The money will be spent for creation of the Start Small Trust Fund.

The founder of Twitter says that after the world triumphs over coronavirus, the foundation will focus on the issue of female education.

It is known that in the United States there is a shortage of ventilators and  protective equipment for physicians. So, Dorsey’s money will be spent for the benefit of health care.

Twitter’s CEO is not the only one who donates personal wealth to fight the deadly virus. Mark Zuckerberg, for example, has donated $ 30 million to the development of the vaccine. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has allocated $ 100 million to buy food for those in need. Apple CEO Tim Cook said that his company would help hospitals in Italy and would release protective screens for doctors.
